Neoprene or Membrane Drysuits?
Neoprene drysuits provide some thermal insulation through the suit material itself. Compressed neoprene designs can offer a balance of warmth, flexibility and reduced buoyancy changes compared with conventional neoprene.
Membrane drysuits, often manufactured using trilaminate materials, are generally lighter and provide little insulation themselves. Warmth comes primarily from the thermal undersuit worn beneath them, allowing divers to adjust their insulation for different water temperatures.
Both styles have advantages, and the best choice depends on your diving conditions, personal preferences and the type of diving you intend to undertake.
