Its specially designed body maintains neutral buoyancy, helping the spool remain suspended in the water if accidentally released rather than immediately sinking or floating away. The concave sides provide a secure, comfortable grip, while ten offset cross-holes make it easier to attach a double-ended bolt snap from either side.

The spool is fitted with a durable luminous line designed to remain visible in low-light and reduced-visibility environments. Its firm, negatively buoyant construction helps reduce unwanted twisting, tangling and loose line—making it particularly well suited to wreck, cave and technical diving, as well as controlled DSMB deployment.
