PADI ReActivate – What's Included?

Our PADI ReActivate scuba refresher course combines online learning with a practical session in a heated indoor swimming pool. It's designed to help certified divers refresh their knowledge, practise essential skills and prepare for their next diving adventure.

1. PADI ReActivate Online Learning

Before attending your practical session, you'll receive access to the PADI ReActivate online learning programme, allowing you to revisit important scuba diving knowledge at your own pace.

The interactive learning covers key diving principles, equipment, safety procedures and other important topics that may have become a little rusty since your last dive.

2. Practical Pool Refresher

You'll join one of our experienced PADI instructors in a heated indoor swimming pool to refresh your practical diving skills.

Your session is tailored to your previous experience and comfort level, you will practise skills including:

• Equipment assembly and pre-dive checks – becoming familiar with your diving equipment again.
• Controlled ascents and descents – refreshing safe diving procedures.
• Buoyancy control – maintaining comfortable, controlled positioning underwater.
• Mask clearing and regulator recovery – revisiting essential diving techniques.
• Emergency procedures – reviewing important safety skills.
• General diving techniques – rebuilding familiarity and comfort underwater.

Who Is PADI ReActivate For?

The course is ideal for certified divers who:

• Haven't been scuba diving for several months or years.
• Are preparing for a diving holiday or liveaboard trip.
• Want to refresh their skills before returning to UK diving.
• Would appreciate some additional practice and instructor support.
• Have recently purchased new equipment and want to become comfortable using it.

Returning to Diving After a Long Break?

If you haven't been scuba diving for several years, you're certainly not alone. Many divers take a break because of family commitments, work or simply a change in circumstances.

At Sussex Diving, we take a friendly, relaxed approach to refresher training. We understand that some divers quickly regain their skills, while others appreciate a little more time and practice to feel comfortable underwater again.

During your PADI ReActivate session, your instructor will work with you to identify the skills you'd most like to refresh, helping you rebuild your confidence at a pace that suits your experience.

There's no need to worry about passing or failing. Our aim is to help you return to diving comfortably and with the skills you need. If your instructor feels that some areas would benefit from further practice before completing your ReActivate, we'll explain what we'd recommend and arrange additional training where appropriate.

In our experience, most returning divers are comfortable completing their refresher in a single session. However, for those who need a little extra time, we're happy to provide it.

Additional pool training is available from £50 per session, normally on a one-to-one basis, giving you the opportunity to practise with the individual attention of an experienced instructor.

Completing Your PADI ReActivate

Once you've completed the required online learning and practical skills review, your PADI ReActivate completion can be recorded with PADI, providing a recognised record of your recent refresher training.

PADI ReActivate refreshes your diving knowledge and practical skills, providing a record of your recent refresher training without changing your existing certification level or certifying agancy.
