PADI Open Water Scuba Diver Part 1 (PADI Open Water Referal).
This is Part one of the PADI Open Water course; please note that further training will be required to become a fully qualified PADI Open Water Scuba Diver.
The PADI Open Water course is a modular course comprising 3 elements, each of which can be purchased and undertaken separately with any PADI Dive Centre worldwide.
Unit 1. The Open Water e-Learning – During the Open Water e-Learning, you will learn the theory and history behind scuba diving, explaining why we do things the way we do and how this keeps us safe whilst scuba diving. The Open Water e-Learning is undertaken in the comfort of your own home, divided into easy sections so that you can pick it up and put it down when it suits you.
Part 2. The Open Water Pool dives – These dives are also known as the confined water dives, over 5 mini dives in our heated pool in Havant we will teach you all the skills needed to make you a safe & confident Open Water Scuba Diver. These dives will normally occur in one or two sessions on a Saturday evening.
Part 3. Once we are happy that you have fully mastered all the skills from the Open Water pool dives, we will take you to one of the dive sites where all you have to do is demonstrate the skills you have already mastered to your Instructor in 4 dives spread over 2 days.

What’s Included and what’s not?
Our Open Water Scuba Diver course includes everything you will need to become a qualified PADI scuba diver: full equipment rental, instructional costs and even a mask and snorkel to keep at the end of the course.
The only things not included are transport to and from the dive sites, overnight stops if required and any dive site entry fees.
*Scuba Divers between the ages of 10 & 14 will earn the rating of Jr. Open Water Scuba Diver and will be limited to diving with a Parent / Guardian or PADI Professional and will be depth limited to 12m. On their 14th birthday (without doing any further training), they will automatically become full PADI Open Water Scuba Divers, and all restrictions will be lifted. Although no further training is officially required, we would suggest either doing our Junior to Adult diver upgrade (where we take them on an informal deep dive to 18m) or the Advanced Open Water Course, where they will experience depths up to 30m in a controlled and supervised manner.
