The PADI DPV (Diver Propulsion Vehicle) Specialty Course covers both theory and practical in-water training to ensure safe, controlled scooter diving. You’ll learn about DPV types and components, battery management, pre-dive checks, and equipment configuration.
In the water, you’ll practise correct towing techniques, speed and depth control, buoyancy while using a DPV, turning and manoeuvring, buddy procedures, and emergency protocols such as out-of-air scenarios and lost-DPV drills. The course also includes dive planning considerations specific to DPV use, helping you manage air consumption, navigation, and exposure limits while extending your range underwater.
